Postdoc job opening, coastal livelihoods and China’s Maritime Silk Road

Large rock with small wide tree against coastal landscape

A new postdoc position is available, called “Challenges and opportunities for coastal livelihoods associated with China’s Maritime Silk Road investments.”

The fisheries social science team at the University of Technology Sydney is recruiting for a postdoctoral research associate to conduct research as part of the Nippon Foundation Ocean Nexus Center, a new interdisciplinary research group that studies changes, responses and solutions to societal issues that emerge in relationship with the oceans.

The position will be based in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo, Sydney.

We are looking for someone who holds a PhD in social science (e.g. anthropology, development studies, geography, sociology or similar), and with knowledge of the social aspects of fisheries, aquaculture, marine conservation and natural resource management in China or in other countries. Chinese written language skills would be highly desirable.
